Barbering Workshops & Courses

Focussed on traditional wet shave techniques, product application and correct steps of a hot shave. This workshop is tailored to each barbers skill level, however it is advised that attendees have basic shaving skills before completing this workshop.

WHAT'S INVOLVED

You will learn how to master a hot shave using a series of traditional steps starting with client consultation. You will then move through the shave covering skin preparation, shaving technique, products used, application of hot and cold towels and finishing off the shave process with traditional techniques. Our educator will demonstrate the techniques required to safely use a cut-throat razor on the first model. You then will be guided by the trainer through your own shave on the second model, where you can work on areas of improvement one-to-one. You will be given a step by step process to complete a traditional hot shave and cover off equipment and products used to complete a professional shave. Attendees are able to ask questions at every step of this workshop. 

LOCATION

Workshop A runs for 3 hours monthly on Monday nights from 6:30pm – 9:30pm at The Barberhood Martin Place.

The next workshop is scheduled for the first Monday of next month.

PRICING

• $375 inc. GST for a private lesson

• $1400 for a group booking inc. GST (Min 4 people).

• Min of two models required

• The Barberhood can provide a model for an additional cost of $50 per model or you are welcome to bring your own free of charge. 

A tax receipt will be provided to you on check-out.

WORKSHOP B - FADES, TAPERS AND DIFFICULT HAIR

Focussed on the core basics of fades and tapers this course will give you confidence in cutting traditional tapers, fades (including skin fades) and long hair. Our educators will guide you in getting the best out of your equipment and natural skill to achieve exceptional haircuts. This course can be tailored for experienced barbers and hairdressers looking to expand their skill set with more complex hair types such as African, Asian and long or curly hair.
